Your Imagination: The Trailer for the Life You’re Creating

February 17, 20263 min read

Ever had one of those days that feels like a rerun?
Same alerts. Same routines. Same heaviness before the coffee even cools.

Einstein said,“Imagination is everything. It’s the preview of life’s coming attractions.”I don’t think he meant that as a cute quote for Pinterest. He meant it as a survival strategy.

Because imagination isn’t fluff or “woo woo.” It’s science. And it’s sacred. It’s the soul’s way of showing us what’s next if we’ll give it space.

Joy as Your Imagination Fuel

Here’s a ritual I practice every morning: before I check my phone or let my mind start racing through to-dos, I pause and ask,
“What would I LOVE to see happen today? More connection? More love? More flow?”

I imagine how the day could feel—a great conversation, a moment of laughter, a sense of ease. I picture it like a short movie clip. I see it play out. I feel the joy of it. Creating that space is like projecting my future. And the energy it creates? It carries me for hours.

But imagination doesn’t just help us shape our own days. It can also open the door to something bigger. What would peace look like if we truly believed it was possible? What kind of world could we create if more people were invested in making a difference instead of just making money? Imagination at this level is how movements are born, how leaders rise, and how new possibilities take shape.

A Moment That Changed Everything

Years ago, I was standing on a beach when I felt a wave of divine love wash over me. It was so real, I knew I was being held. Only days later, my sister’s cancer diagnosis shook our whole family, followed by the loss of both of our parents.

Grief tested everything I thought I knew. But here’s what I discovered: imagination and perspective aren’t luxuries. They’re lifelines. Even in heartbreak, choosing to imagine joy, comfort, or trust in the divine shifted how I walked through the fire.

Einstein was right. Imagination isn’t escape. It’s rehearsal. It’s remembering that what you imagine, you begin to live.

When We Ignore Imagination

If we dismiss it, life becomes one big rerun. Exhaustion. Autopilot. Disconnection from what we’re truly here to create.

But when we choose to imagine, we move from survival into creation. From default into design. And as I always say:“Holy Shift! Everything’s a gift.”That includes the hard moments, because even then, imagination points us toward the next right step.

A Tiny Practice You Can Try Today

  • Before you grab your phone in the morning, pause.

  • Close your eyes. Take one deep breath.

  • Ask:“What would spark joy in my imagination today?”

  • Let yourself feel it fully.

  • Take one small, aligned step in that direction.

This isn’t daydreaming. It’s soul-led rehearsal. And the more you practice on the small, daily level, the more your imagination expands into a vision for the life and world you want to help create.

The Invitation

Einstein wasn’t talking about fantasy. He was pointing to the divine technology already built into us. Imagination is the trailer of your next chapter.

So today, watch the trailer. See it. Feel it. Believe it.

For yourself:What would spark joy in your imagination today?
For the world:What is the future your soul longs to help shape?
